Madai Origen Mencia 2018

Madai Origen Mencia 2018

£13.00

Based in the Bierzo region of North Western Spain, Bodegas Madai was established by brothers Daniel and Gonzalo who took over their grandparents vineyards and discovered many old vines of Mencia and Godello grapes, some as old as 100 years old. Today they have rejuvinated the vineyards and are producing seriously high quality, low yielding fruit, making incredible wine.

Country: Spain
Region: Bierzo
Grape: Mencia

Made with old vine Mencia grapes, mostly 80 years old plus. Mencia, if you haven't tried it before, is for those who enjoy a more delicate, perfumed red. So if you're a fan of Pinot Noir or Gamay based reds or even Nebbiolo then this should be a nice addition to your tastes. Vibrant aromas of cherry, red berry and violet. The palate is complex with crunchy berry fruit, sweet liquorice, slightly floral with fine tannins, a lovely freshness and a velvety finish.
