Chateau Musar 2012

Chateau Musar 2012

£28.00

Chateau Musar is Lebanons most famous wine and a must have amongst many collectors around the world. Lebanon with its rich history and French colonial heritage produces some outstanding wines, which I would highly recommend trying.

Country: Lebanon
Grape: Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan, Cinsault
Region: Bekaa Valley

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan and Cinsault, mostly from vines at around 40 years old. This delicious blend is bottled unfined and unfiltered and will therefore throw some sediment. Ideally this wine should be stored on it's side to keep the cork moist and and then decanted when required. I would certainly recommend keeping the bottle upright a few hours before opening if you can to reduce the amount of sediment in the wine when decanted. This wine is elegant and rounded, with sweet fruit and spice on the nose, the palate shows raspberry and blueberry fruit with liquorice, clove, cinnamon and fine gentle tannins.
